FAES Organisation
FAES is governed by a Board of Trustees which meets several times a year to decide on a plan of activities and a budget for the Foundation, as well as to outline broad areas of interest.
The President of FAES guides the Foundation’s activities and sets the objectives for each department.
The Secretary-General puts into practice the guidelines of the Board and President and coordinates the different departments of the Foundation.
FAES is organised in different departments
Economy and Public Policies: this department covers all work concerning economic activity, tax and trade, as well as education, immigration, health, the environment and other public policies.
Constitution and Institutions: it develops the lines of work of the Foundation regarding the Constitutional system, the institutions of the Rule of Law, political philosophy, etc. This department also works on issues concerning the fight against terrorism.
International Department: it promotes the Foundation’s international relations as well as the activities related to international political affairs, security and defence.
Training Department: responsible of courses in political training.
Publishing Department: it undertakes all the work involving the Foundation’s publications, its documentation centre, Gota a Gota publishing house, and our website.
Communications Department: it is responsible for relations with the media for the dissemination of activities carried out by the Foundation.
Management Department: provides support for the other departments and takes care of all operational aspects.
Organisation Department: reporting to the Management Department, it’s responsible for all the organisational aspects of the Foundation’s activities.
FAES also has four specialised institutes
Instituto Cánovas del Castillo, is in charge of researching and disseminating the history of Spanish liberal-conservative thinking.
Instituto Manuel Fraga, is devoted to the study of Spanish political affairs following the Transition to democracy. The Instituto also stores and catalogues publications and documentation recources relating to the Partido Popular and contemporary Spanish political affairs.
Instituto Popular Iberoamericano, which works to develop and strengthen political and cultural relations between Spain and Latin America.
Institut Catalunya Futur, is based in Barcelona and organises lectures and seminars and publishes work of special interest to Catalonia.
