The European Ideas Network and the European Foundations Network

FAES carries out its work in Europe through the European Ideas Network (EIN) and bi-lateral agreements with other institutions.

The European Ideas Network is a network of think tanks dedicated to studying issues that affect the European Union and its relations with the rest of the world. Within the European Ideas Network FAES directs the group’s projects that focus on the international fight against terrorism and plays an active part in all the organisation’s work groups and task forces.

On 14th September 2004, twenty-five European think tanks and political foundations signed an agreement to co-operate to define possible joint areas of work that would extend the EIN’s field of research. The European Network of think tanks was born out of this agreement and forty-five institutions now take part in the various work groups and task forces. FAES was one of the founders of the network and plays a leading role within it.

The Foundation maintains a strategic alliance with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, jointly organising workshops, meetings and brainstorming sessions.
As well as its collaborative work and agreements with these organisations, FAES also maintains regular contact and runs joint activities with the following organisations:
