Ignacio Astarloa, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Miguel Ángel Quintanilla Navarro and Miguel Marín join management
Madrid, 09.02.12.- FAES Foundation, presided by José María Aznar, has finished restructuring its Management team. After Javier Zarzalejos’ appointment as new Secretary-General, Ignacio Astarloa, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Miguel Marín and Miguel Ángel Quintanilla Navarro have joined the Management team. These changes are the result of former Secretary-General, Jaime García-Legaz, and several directors, leaving to occupy offices in the government.
Thus, Javier Zarzalejos was appointed Secretary-General by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees to substitute Jaime García-Legaz, new Secretary of State for Trade, who will continue to be linked to FAES as a member of the Board of Trustees. Furthermore, Ignacio Astarloa, MP for the Partido Popular, has assumed the management of the Constitution and Institutions Department, which was previously led by Zarzalejos.
Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, MP for the Partido Popular, will direct the International Department, after its prior head, Alberto Carnero, was appointed Chief of Staff of the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Carnero, likewise, is now a member of FAES’ Board of trustees.
At the head of the Department of Economy and Public Policies, the Foundation has selected economist Miguel Marín. His predecessor in this post, Fernando Navarrete, is now the Director-General of Strategy and Assistant to the Chairman of the Instituto de Crédito Oficial, ICO.
Finally, FAES has also appointed political scientist Miguel Ángel Quintanilla Navarro, new Publishing Director. He substitutes Pilar Marcos, who has been appointed General Studies Coordinator at Madrid’s City Council.
These appointments complete FAES Foundation’s new management team, where Rafael Bardají will continue as Director of Foreign Policy, and Ana Cabos as Director of the Communications Department.
